PPA Lawsuit Information

Phenylpropanoloamine (PPA) was a common ingredient in many over-the-counter weight loss and cold medications until the FDA issued a recall notice in Nov. 2000. The recall was issued after PPA was found to increase the risk of hemorrhagic stroke, especially in women between the ages of 18 and 49. Hemorrhagic stroke is a condition in which a blood vessel in the brain bursts, causing bleeding and brain damage.
